Safe essential oil use is a very controversial issue. Many warnings are to prevent the uneducated user from improper use and many are based on old information. Essential oil use in  skin care products is generally regarded as safe for all due to the small amounts used in these applications, with certain exceptions such as wintergreen and birch oils which we never use due to the potential of toxicity.
